This beautiful statue was hand-carved by a talented artisan in Indonesia.
It is made out of parasite wood which is found on the island of Bali. The flower-like eruption in the wood is caused by a wasp laying it's eggs inside of the tree. As the eggs reach the pupa stage, the wood bursts open, leaving behind this beautiful formation as the wasp flies away.
